The fur of the Snowshoe Rabbit (or Snowshoe Hare) turns white in the winter which makes it hard to see in snow. In the summer, its fur is rusty brown which makes it hard to see in grass and brush.

It has large feet to keep it from sinking in the snow and fur on its feet to protect them from the cold.

Rabbits do come in different colors, but not in green.

You can learn more about Snowshoe Hares at this Wikipedia page. See some rabbit breed colors on a page from the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
